IDEA # 1: Chalkboards

Chalkboards are so much fun! Did you know how simple it is to convert an old painting, canvas or mirror into a chalkboard? Your local home improvement store carries chalkboard paint. This is on of those projects that takes about 20 minutes and less than $10. Simply tape the edges and then apply 2-3 light coats of chalkboard paint until desired look.

Whether you are highlighting a MENU, welcoming guests or keeping track of upcoming plans, they make a great new d�cor item for your kitchen even on the most modest budget.

IDEA # 2 Jars of NOODLES

Another affordable way to fill a corner on your cupboards, decorate behind a sink or above cabinetry are noodles in glass jars. In some more sophisticated homes, I have purchased elegant large glass jars at Homegoods for $7-$12 each and then filled then with various shaped noodles that all match. For a more casual and fun look, mix whole wheat, with colored options and plain noodles in jars that are less formal.
